Appointments last 45 minutes and begin on the half hour. Tutors work with students to improve overall writing skills as well as the paper at hand. Students should bring a copy of the teacher's assignment and have identified issues they'd like to discuss.

Tutors can't proofread papers for students, but they will work with students on particular grammatical and sentence concerns in addition to larger concerns such as thesis construction, organization, style and tone, integrating, citing and documenting research, and so on.

Students unable to make appointments during available times may make use of the Online Writing Lab (OWL).

The Writing Center web site also includes online workshops, handouts, helpful links and resources for writers, and complete information about the procedures and policies of the Writing Center.
